I am writing to enthusiastically recommend, without any reservations, Mahiran Yan. Yan has been working for us since May 2019 as a full-time nanny for our son, William. William was five months old when she began working for us. We are only ending our time with her because we are moving back to the United States. Yan was one of the best things about our time in Singapore. We are far away from our family, and we were incredibly lucky to find a nanny who we immediately felt we could trust with our first child. She has treated our son as her own, singing to him and playing with him all day, displaying the utmost patience and love on days when he is a bit fussy, and always watching him carefully, which is even more important now that he is walking! William absolutely adores her. He smiles and babbles excitedly when she arrives in the morning and immediately stops what he’s doing and runs up to her to give her a hug. Yan is extremely knowledgeable – she has four children of her own, and I honestly think she knows more about babies than I do! While she is happy to take any instruction that you give her, she also has helpful and thoughtful common-sense advice. She has boundless energy and was in constant motion chatting, dancing, and reading with our son. We also quickly felt comfortable with her taking our son to the park, which has quickly become his favorite activity of the day. She is very reliable and always arrives on time. I could not recommend Yan more highly. She has been instrumental in our son’s early upbringing, and I always felt assured knowing that he was in her care. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their nanny.
